Enterprising Leadership
Milwaukee College Preparatory School
(MC Prep) serves one of Milwaukee’s most
economically and socially troubled neighborhoods. But Robert Rauh, the school’s leader since it was incorporated in 1997, has worked to prove that the terms “high poverty” and “high achieving” are not mutually exclusive. MC Prep is achieving success through high expectations, visionary leadership, and hard work.
PAVE assisted MC Prep in the purchase and renovation of the school’s current building, transforming a tired relic in a blighted neighborhood into a beacon of hope for the community. PAVE continues to support MC Prep in the construction of a new school wing which will add four new classrooms, a media lab, and a new playground, and will further MC Prep’s role as a vital community asset in a
building that was once a neighborhood liability.
Milwaukee College Prep has consistently ranked as one of the top public charter schools in the state of Wisconsin. The school's test scores in reading and math have exceeded state averages, in a district that has historicaly underperformed its suburban and outstate counterparts.
