The Impact of your Investment in PAVE

Your contribution to PAVE works to improve the quality of schools in Milwaukee and expand the capacity of high quality schools to serve more students.  PAVE will achieve these goals, and carry out our enduring mission, with these proven strategies:

·         Provide grants worth $600,000 to college preparatory schools in the Milwaukee area to build school capacity and to support current scholarship students.  While PAVE will continue to assist our scholarship students over the next four years, the essential shift in our strategic plan means that scholarship support will gradually be replaced by capacity-building support for excellent schools.

·         Continue to support the Summer Learning Initiative, which is designed to eliminate the achievement gap for low-income students in Milwaukee.  PAVE resources leverage additional support to enhance the capacity of high performing schools and offer extended learning opportunities outside the traditional school year and curriculum.  Results will be presented in the Annual Report in June, 2010.

·         Evaluate schools in the critical areas of governance and leadership, financial health, infrastructure for academic excellence, and strategic partnerships.  PAVE’s experience demonstrates that these fundamental capacities improve school quality.

·         Collaborate with leading Milwaukee organizations to improve quality in Milwaukee Choice and Charter schools.

·         Sustain excellence at high quality schools and expand or replicate these schools through existing capital investment, leadership and block grant programs.

To achieve these goals in 2009-2010, PAVE must raise $1,200,000.  Please contact Dan McKinley or Kathleen Callan Brady at 414.263.2970 if you have any questions about PAVE’s strategic plan or fund raising objectives.
