PAVE is an independent non-profit foundation that makes excellent educational opportunities possible for Milwaukee families.
PAVE fulfills this mission through investing in program development and physical expansion of urban schools, and the leveraging of diverse partnerships that lead to urban school improvement.
PAVE seeks to increase the ability of urban schools to educate low-income students successfully.
PAVE's current school improvement projects facilitate school improvement through program development throughout the year and day, and the fostering of partnerships with outside groups to enrich learning and to provide supplemental services to families.
PAVE has invested over $27 million in scholarships to over 17,000 families since 1992, with 72% of PAVE scholarship alumni enrolled in college in 2008. PAVE has invested over $16 million in school expansion projects since 2001, leveraging over $60 million in total private investment on the development of high-performing urban schools.
PAVE’s School Quality Initiative invites schools to achieve excellent results through a comprehensive partnership. PAVE will work intensively with a limited number of schools to develop their capacity in the four fundamental areas where PAVE can be most effective as a partner: leadership and governance, financial accountability, infrastructure for academic excellence, and strategic partnerships with families and community organizations.
