Tenor High School, a PAVE partner school, was recently recognized as the top Charter school in the state by Wisconsin Charter Schools Association. Tenor High School is chartered through University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is operated by Seeds of Health, a Milwaukee non profit organization.
PAVE is a long term partner of Tenor High School and Seeds of Health, providing low-interest loans finance Tenor High School's building in Downtown Milwaukee. PAVE has also partnered the last three years with Tenor High School and Seeds of Health Elementary to provide a high quality summer learning program.
The award recognized Tenor High School for its high educational quality and ground-breaking partnership with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), in which students who graduate from Tenor graduate with not only a high school diploma, but a certificate in a vocation or trade from MATC.
Seeds of Health operates four schools in the city of Milwaukee, including Tenor and Veritas High Schools and Seeds of Health Elementary, all charter schools, and Grandview High School, an alternative school operated in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools.
Tenor is not the only Seeds of Health-operated school to receive such recognition. In 2008, Veritas High School was named one America's Top High Schools by US News and World Report, one of only two Wisconsin high schools to receive the honor.
